About Us

The Y Group, Inc. is an American consulting and design firm based in San Diego, California, where it was founded by Michelle A. Gallegos (CEO) and Kimberly A. Thorsell (COO) in 2020.  

Michelle and Kimberly, are entrepreneurs and investors who both reside in North County San Diego. Together they actively lead The Y Group building long-term, personalized partnerships with each of their clients.  

Michelle brings expertise in large-scale strategic planning initiatives for creating efficient workplace environments. She actively works with leadership teams to educate on how applying company vision can enhance an organization's use of physical and digital space, while lowering workforce inefficiencies. Her role expands into nurturing client relationships and bringing together powerful teams.

Kimberly leads top-design concept and execution initiatives on client projects. She oversees all company operations while establishing and promoting The Y Group's personal culture, brand, and vision. Kimberly is responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of the company's project outputs.

Together the duo tackles various project challenges, while creating personalized solutions, for a variety of industry types and workplace environments. They understand a successful workplace needs (4) elements to thrive: brand, space, culture, and the ability to adapt and change.
